Quarantine At Home Bar Crawl Recap Thu, 09 Apr 2020 22:08:48 +0000 Quarantine At Home Bar Crawl Recap Read More »

Quarantine at home bar crawl recap:

We couldn’t take the party to the bars, so we brought the party to YOU (social distancing style).

During these unprecedented times, we wanted to do something to unite together our thousands of crawlers. Unfortunately almost all of of spring events have been rescheduled to a later date, but that isn’t stopping us from trying to bring the joy of togetherness from afar. Check out the details about our free #QuarantineBarCrawl that we hosted on March 21st and March 28th, 2020.

So what is a “Quarantine At Home Bar Crawl”?

Basically a fun bar crawl that is done in the comfort of your own house.
Every 30 minutes we posted a video introducing the new crawl theme, that it was time to move rooms, and what playlist to be bumping to. The crawl was from 6:00pm-9:00pm and concluded with an after party.

Crawlers could submit their pictures and videos within our Facebook event page or by tagging us on Instagram. Check out both ‘Quarantine At Home Bar Crawl’ Facebook event pages to see our how much fun our crawlers had!

Crawl Map:

Can’t have a crawl without a map! Each crawl had their own map and a specific Spotify playlist to follow along with.

Crawl Map from March 21st
Crawl Map from March 28th

Crawl Themes:

To make things even more fun, we decided to have different themes throughout the crawl! The theme changed every 30 minutes and crawlers got into the spirit by changing their outfits to each theme. We had such a blast seeing everyone’s outfits and dance moves.

Our themes included: Ugly Sweater / Holiday, USA Patriotic, Adult Prom, Beach Tiki, 70’s 80’s & 90’s, St. Patrick’s Day, Cosplay, Roaring 20’s, Taco & Tequila, and Sports.

Ugly Sweater / Holiday Theme

Each theme also had it’s own corresponding playlist on Spotify. For example: Our Ugly Sweater / Holiday playlist had everyone’s favorite ‘All I want for Christmas is You’, while our Beach Tiki playlist had the classic ‘Margararitaville’. We even created a pregame playlist that had songs with titles in reference to quarantine… all in good fun humor 😉 You can check out all of our Spotify playlists here!

IT’S 9 ON A FRIDAY NIGHT.. Fri, 14 Feb 2020 04:06:38 +0000 IT’S 9 ON A FRIDAY NIGHT.. Read More »

It’s 9 on a Friday night in this transplant hub of a city. You pass your card over the bar to pay for that drink that you’ve been waiting for since 2pm. As you start to turn with your drink in hand, some ass hat knocks into you. F***.

Then the next weekend comes around and you queue the great American debate of the bored; do you want to go out tonight? Of course, you do. You’ve already binge watched Stanger Things twice and Master of None hasn’t even started production for next season. The loss of elbow room at the bar is well worth it at this point.

Now, you’re wondering what bar to go to or if there is some upcoming even that you can throw yourself into. But here’s the thing, you can do both. We all sell ourselves short only to end up with a spilt drink all over our shirt due to the ass hat mentioned before. There’s a better way.

Although shameless plugging is not something to brag about, I’m sure your party friends will agree that bar crawling is a great way to excuse your Sunday morning nap. Stop worrying about what Josh is doing with his friends, because anyone named Josh sucks. So come tie one on, get yourself half in the bag, another cliché metaphor for getting wasted, and crawl with people who know how to do it right.

Cheers Always,

Bar Crawl USA

5 Tips On How To Be A Taco & Tequila Crawl Expert

First off if you are expecting this to be a casual, sit down, quiet, or low key food crawl you better ask for a refund now. If you are expecting it to be a fun party with amazing tacos, tasty margaritas, smooth tequila, DJ’s to dance your buzz off then this is your crawl.

Imagine a food crawl meets a bar crawl that turns into a taco & margarita lovers paradise! Do you think that is something you can handle this Saturday? If so, then we can be best friends!

Now that we covered how epic this party is going to be, we’ll cover some tips to enhance your Taco & Tequila Crawl experience.

Tip 1: Review the map the night before

Yes that is correct. We typically post the map on Thursday (actually Cinci we posted it in the FB event page but here you go…) Check out your favorite tacos & try and hit those early but be flexible. This is a free flowing crawl with 8 stops ( serving tacos) so if one is packed or busy there is always a tasty option across the street. We ALWAYS suggest trying to get your tacos early (pre-caution for the amount of tequila that is about to hit your blood stream) as it is common sense that a taco may be the freshest at 12:45pm as compared to 5:45pm.

You’l also notice time slots next to each bar. That is to keep the flow of the crawl all moving together! It is when we have notified the bars to be staffed and ready and when they’ll have entertainment bumping for you to party your taco lovin’ butts off.

Tip 2: Get your favorite tacos first

We negotiated with each bar to at least supply 300 tacos! Almost all of the bars are catering in fresh tacos, so once that bar is done, they could be done serving tacos. That doesn’t mean there won’t be enough tacos for you to stuff your face.. there will be, trust us. 300 tacos x 6 bars = 1,800+ tacos. We have 500 crawlers with around 1,600 taco tabs floating around the crawl. Back to the original tip, get your favorites first while there is little to no line and you are sober enough to wait ?

Tip 3: Divide and Conquer

The tacos are to be served in a fast service station, however, there maybe times where the line is 5 minutes. This is where you divide and conquer! One of you goes and gets the rounds of drink while the other holds down the taco line… now you are nearing the front of the line, drink in hand, and ready to drink, eat, and then hit the dance floor.

How do you get your tacos?

Depending what ticket you purchased you’ll have 3 or 4 tearaway tabs on your wristband. Just tear away the tab on your wristband and hand it to the taco service fast line for your free taco. No tab = no taco! They will not be accepting cash or credit in the taco bar craw line.

Tip 4: Have a plan but be ready to completely abandon your plan:

You may have your top places to visit but notice the music bumping or vibe coming from a certain place that you hadn’t originally picked. Be spontaneous, check out the new bar, hit the dance floor, and be ready to make hundreds of new friends.

One of your favorite places may have totally screwed the pooch and staffed 2 bartenders or there is a line for the bathroom or whatever the case may be there are so many amazing bars to check out and only 6 hours to do it.

Tip 5: Try and remember your favorite taco, margarita, and bar.. “try”

With all the amazing $3-$5 tequila shot & margarita specials and the possible taco coma you may be in you’ll need to try and remember your favorites. We’ll have an online vote for best taco, best margarita, and best bar atmosphere.

Thank you again for making the Inaugural Taco & Tequila Crawl the best ever!

THE BEST TACO & MARGARITA GOES TO… Fri, 14 Feb 2020 04:05:14 +0000 THE BEST TACO & MARGARITA GOES TO… Read More »

The winners are here… The winners are here!!

You taco & tequila lovers ate & drank your way through Midtown last Saturday! 8,000 tacos were consumed, cases upon cases of tequila were consumed, and dance floors were taken over all before the sun went down. We cannot thank you enough for being a part of the largest crawl here in Atlanta!

Favorite Taco:

You came, you crawled, you consumed some amazing tacos. Based on the surveys the winner is our first ever BACK TO BACK CHAMPION:

  1. Senor Patron
    1. Wasn’t their fast service station set up perfectly? The tacos were so fresh and tasty.
  2. City Tap
    1. Their head chef was making sure every taco was portioned perfectly. He was there from start to finish as he was very prideful in the taco. You may have had to wait for this one a bit but clearly based off the votes, it was worth it.
  3. Fado Irish Pub (Fish Taco)
    1. Fado has been top 3 in the voting the last three years.

The other amazing part of the survey is we received close to 300 surveys back and 14 of 15 places received a first place vote. That means there is something for everyone out there.

Favorite Margarita:

You have your favorite taco in one hand and your favorite margarita in the other. The only way to have the best in both hands is having it at the same restaurant… The winners are!

  1. Senor Patron wins best margarita with their organic / skinny margarita. Man were those good!! Sorry even the staff has to sample the product and we agree with this #1 vote.
  2. We actually have a tie for 2nd/3rd with 3 different restaurants.
    1. Escorpion: They always have great margaritas! One of our favorite stops! I know when some of you got there early it may have been some wait to get your drinks. Sadly, the GM said 3 employees called out. However by 2p-3p they were back to 4 bartenders. Hopefully you got your hands on a marg.. or two
    2. City Tap:  We didn’t get to try it but they were certainly a very popular margarita.
    3. Zocalo: Zocalo was pumping margs both inside the bar and outside at the mobile bar on their amazing patio.

Every single spot on the crawl (all 17) at least received 2 votes for best Margarita. The ones listed above received 33 to 37 votes!

Best Stop, The PARTY Stop, The I want to shake my booty stop!

  1. Senor Patron: For the first time in three years we have a clean sweep at #1 in all categories. Senor Patron had some amazing Latin & Spanish music outside but had your “Let’s clear out the tables and twerk our tacos off inside”. Congrats Senor Patron!
  2. City Tap: Patio doors open, DJ pumping, and party people dancing. Towards the end of the event we counted at least 50 people singing “Poison…It’s driving me out of my mind.. that girl is Poison” it was awesome.
  3. My Sisters Room: Did you make it to Crescent Avenue? Did you make it to MSR? If not, you missed a party to end the event. That dance floor was packed, DJ was spinning hit after hit, and the taco & tequila crawlers were in full invasion.
    1. Zocalo was 1 vote from being tied for 3rd The DJ’s, the patio, and the drinks had what was an amazing experience from VIP check-in to the very end.

How did you celebrate national Tequila day?

Published July 24th, 2019

Apparently there’s a day for everything, but National Tequila Day is one I can definitely get behind. Whether you prefer a quick shot, fun cocktails, or a classic margarita, there is nothing quite like tequila.

So, in the spirit (pun intended) of my favorite liquor, here are 3 ways you can celebrate National Tequila Day.

  1. Try a new cocktail:
  • When you think of a tequila cocktail I’m sure you picture a margarita or tequila sunrise, but there are a bunch of cocktails that showcase the tang of a good tequila. You’ve probably heard of a Moscow Mule, but why not spice it up into a Mayan Mule? Replace vodka with tequila and you’ll be partying like it’s 800 AD.

2. Splurge on a nice bottle:

  • Who knew there were so many brands of tequila out there? Instead of opting for the cheapest, treat yourself to a fancy bottle of tequila… one that won’t make you want to vomit right after taking a shot. The world of tequila is bigger than you know.

3. Go for a tequila tasting or participate in bar crawl:

Just remember, have fun and keep it under control.

The saying is true: 1 tequila, 2 tequila, 3 tequila, FLOOR.

HOW DO YOU DAY DRINK? Fri, 14 Feb 2020 04:00:50 +0000 HOW DO YOU DAY DRINK? Read More »

There are a few activities that scream summer as strongly as day drinking. Spending a Saturday or Sunday relaxing with a cold beer, wine or cocktails just feels right when the weather is steamy.

But all that drinking in the hot sun can hit harder than you expect. Let’s be real – 40 proof liquor and strong sun aren’t always the best match. So, we asked a few of our favorite crawlers around the country on what their favorite summertime homemade cocktail!

Megan from St. Pete went with a dry wine, three fruit juices, sparkling water and fresh fruit, this is a delicious and refreshing option that’ll help beat the heat.

    • 2 lemons sliced thin
    • 3 oranges sliced thin
    • 1 lime sliced thin
    • 1 dozen green grapes cut in half
    • 3 (750ml) bottles of dry white Riesling wine
    • 2 pints fresh strawberries
    • 1 cup simple syrup
    • 1 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
    • 3 cups white grape juice
    • 3 cups pineapple juice
    • 4 cups sparkling water

Shay from Atlanta toasts the summer poolside season with a flute of punch! Here’s her deliciously bubbly beverage to keep you cool on a hot day.

    • 12 ounces of cranberry juice
    • 12 ounces of pink lemonade
    • 1 bottle (750ml) sparkling white wine
    • 1 bottle (750ml) rose champagne
    • 3 ounces fresh lime juice
    • 34 ounces club soda
    • 2 fresh cups of frozen strawberries, cranberries or blueberries for garnish

“Chad” from Greenville, SC went a little of the tracks! It’s not technically a cocktail, but it keeps you cool and gives you just the right  amount of buzz, so it’s a win says “Chad”. Feel free to substitute in your favorite brews.

    Corona Lime Pop:

    • 1 bottle Corona beer
      • 1 tablespoon lime juice
      • 2 tablespoons sugar
      • Now Freeze it!
