POTTER’S PUMPKIN PICKS

Tis’ the season for pumpkin everything… even Harry Potter.

Is it really fall if you’re not drinking a PSL or going to the pumpkin patch? Everywhere you look you see something pumpkin related… food, drinks, outfits, decor and more. Since our Wizard Pub Crawl tour takes place in the fall, we knew we couldn’t pass up a chance to discuss people’s two favorite things: Harry Potter and Pumpkin. We bet if they were still making movies we would see Harry strolling through Hogwarts with a PSL. Here’s our two favorite pumpkin-themed HP picks.

Pumpkin Pasties:

Harry Potter’s famous pumpkin pasties sold in the Hogwarts Express.

Ingredients:

1 pkg Refrigerated Pie Dough
14 oz Pumpkin Puree
1/2 cup sugar
1 tbsp pumpkin pie spice
2 eggs (divided)

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F
Line baking sheet with parchment paper
Roll out pie dough circle and cut three 5 inch circles of dough out of each
In a medium bowl beat together pumpkin puree, sugar, 1 egg, and pumpkin pie spice until smooth Spoon 2-3 tbsp of pumpkin mix into the center of the small dough circles
Fold over the dough circles and pinch them shut to seal. (Use a fork to help you if necessary)
Using a sharp knife cut a small lightning bolt into the top of each pumpkin pasty for venting. Just 3 small slits in a zig-zag pattern
In a small bowl beat the second egg. Brush the tops of each pumpkin pasty with the beaten egg
Bake the pumpkin pasties for 15 -20 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool, then serve

Pumpkin Juice:

All the flavors of Autumn in one glass.

Ingredients:

4 liters apple cider
1 15 oz pumpkin puree
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
2 tsp. vanilla

Instructions:

Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher and stir well
Pour over ice in individual glasses
Stir again before each serving
